GEOGRAPHY

The Cais do Sodre metro stop is right in front of the Mercado da Ribeira.
Here you can also find a station where trains leave for seashore closest to Lisbon, to the town Cascais located on the Atlantic Ocean.
Mercado stands on the Tejo river and right across the street there’s a ferry and boat station. Just in 10 minutes of travel you can reach the south bank of the Tejo.
The city center is just a 10-minute walk away from the venue. Surrounding neighborhoods are full of cafes, museums, points of interest, hotels and tourist apartments.

 

HOW TO GET TO THE VENUE:

TAXI / TVDE:

One of the good things about Lisbon is that the airport is almost in the center of the city. This means that if you take a taxi from the airport to the venue it will cost you only around €10-15, even if you want to go to hotel first.

You can also use TVDE: Uber or Bolt applications.

METRO:

If you prefer to explore public transport, you can take the METRO from the airport. To go to the Marathon’s venue, you would have to take the Red Line from the airport station to “Alameda” station and then change to the green line until “Cais do Sodre” station. Then just cross the main street and you are at the entrance of Mercado da Ribeira.
